Innovation. Innovation. Innovation. I love to change things up when the change is for the better and I’m adding an element of change to The Bionic Chronicles in the form of a new series designed for parents and their children, it’s called The Jr. Adventurer Skills Series.
Every so often instead of the typical trip report, parental insight, or in my case, an injury report based upon my latest excursion, I’m going to be writing on a topic tailored more towards the younger generation. The purpose is to enhance their outdoor knowledge and skill making their time that much more enjoyable. It will also give parents the chance to learn with their children, teach their children, and watch them learn and grow. I know every parent who reads this blog is already doing that, but sometimes it doesn’t hurt to have a helping hand.
“So what will this skills series be about?” you might be asking, or you might not be asking but you should be asking it . . . so start thinking about it now. (Are you thinking about it…….we’re all waiting for you to get with the program.) We’ll be touching on things like starting a fire, and fire safety, trail safety, geology, birding, even basic first aid. Things that help children learn and help them to be more comfortable at being away from home. Each post will have the “Jr. Adventurer Skills” title so it’ll be easily searchable and have it’s own category.
We’re excited to be offering this since it’s a family blog and as much as we want our children to have fun and enjoy the outdoors we want them to be safe as well. So keep your eyes open for future posts and more great things to come. If there are specific topics you’d like to see us cover, please comment and let us know!
So until next time…..Adventure On!
